On the evening of May 5, 2011, Dorothy Fletcher, along with 16 other recipients, won a 2011 Preservation Award given by the Jacksonville Historic Preservation Commission.  Honorees were guests at a reception held at MOCA, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Jacksonville, and awards were presented at a ceremony held in the Main Library located Downtown.  Dorothy Fletcher won her award for her book Remembering Jacksonville:  By the Wayside and for her Mandarin Sun column, “By the Wayside.”
